I spend most of my time EXPLORING nature to
understand the complex
PROCESSES of our world.

I love to witness Mother Mature EXPRESS herself through the clay and other NATURAL materials that I utilize.

The Glaze that I used is made with the ASH from fallen TREES.

UNIQUE to the minerals that tree absorbed in its life these glazes are the colors and glassy surface on every piece.

Wild CLAY tells its own UNIQUE story of the MOUNTAIN ranges that it USED to be.

When I peer INSIDE of a KILN, I am a MOTH drawn to the FLAME within.

For most of my career, I have fired ATMOSPHERIC kilns--where FLAMES carries VAPORIZED ash or salt and DEPOSITS it on EVERY piece.

Where EACH piece is PLACED inside the KILN determines how the FINAL piece
will LOOK.

The FLAME wraps around every piece and leaves INDELIBLE marks on the SURFACE.

In California, I continued learning how to build ANAGAMA wood-fire KILNS to understand how kilns work.
